Business Intelligence Analyst Jobs in Alberta

A Business Intelligence Analyst in the technology industry uses data to help the company make better business decisions. They collect, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data, often using software and data analysis tools. Their role involves understanding the company's business strategies, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), and building reports and dashboards that visualize data in a meaningful way. They also work closely with management to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements for data engineers and developers.

A Business Intelligence Analyst should have strong technical skills including knowledge of SQL and experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. Certifications in these tools, as well as in areas like data visualization and data analysis, are valuable. They should also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of business operations. Prior roles that could lead to a Business Intelligence Analyst position include Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or even roles in operations, finance, or management where the person has gained experience in data analysis and business strategy.
