Position Summary
The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to provide insights that support decision-making and strategic planning. You will work closely with various departments to gather data, identify trends, and deliver actionable recommendations. A strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data manipulation tools, and a passion for problem-solving are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, clean, and organize data from multiple sources.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives.
- Data Visualization: Develop and maintain clear and effective data visualizations using tools like Power BI, or Excel to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Prepare detailed reports and create interactive dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
- Statistical Analysis: Conduct statistical analysis and predictive modeling to forecast trends and outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, operations) to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
- Data Quality & Integrity: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data by implementing processes for data validation and quality checks.
- Automation & Optimization: Streamline data processes and implement automation where applicable to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc analyses to support business initiatives and decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in data analysis, data science, and business intelligence.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with databases.
- Strong knowledge of data analysis tools.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, or similar.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and data modeling.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when analyzing and interpreting data.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a data analysis role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques for predictive analysis.
- Experience in the aviation industry (e.g., aircraft maintenance production, parts usage) is a plus.
