ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Data Scientist to join our Data and AI Practice onsite in Chantilly and/or Herndon, VA . You will be a key member of a dynamic, cross-functional team focused on transforming how Government clients extract insights from data to achieve critical mission objectives. This leadership role involves guiding a team and collaborating with others to implement this transformative process. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in the analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of complex, enterprise-wide, cloud-based data science and analytics solutions that align with mission goals and requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based analytics and data science solutions.
  • Develop models and solutions applied to problem sets in a broad range of data science and data analytics areas, including but not limited to, graph analytics, anomaly detection, geo-spatial analysis, and data visualization.
  • Perform knowledge elicitation from client of business problem details and incorporate that knowledge into algorithms, models, analytics and approaches in client solutions.
  • Contribute data science expertise to solution development through whiteboarding sessions with clients, partners, and coworkers.
  • Address data science technical challenges in the development of solutions, including algorithms, models, data manipulation, or other technical challenges related to data science and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Ensure the quality and performance of analytics solutions through rigorous testing and validation. Adhere to security and compliance standards, ensuring the protection of sensitive government data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field and 10 years of experience OR a Master's degree and 8 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in Oracle Analytics Cloud or similar analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers.
  • Management experience, including project, people, customer, and financial management.
  • Understanding of security and compliance standards related to handling sensitive Government data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications in Oracle Analytics Cloud or related technologies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing machine learning models.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess a current and active TS/SCI with polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
