Roles and Responsibilities 

We are seeking a Salesforce Technical Lead to support the design, development, and integration of a complex suite of Salesforce applications for a high-impact Government client. In this role, you’ll lead solution architecture, develop and review custom Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC), and provide strategic technical guidance. The ideal candidate will have strong Salesforce development skills—including experience with unlocked packages—as well as a solid understanding of enterprise system integration, security protocols, and Agile methodologies. You’ll collaborate closely with both technical teams and stakeholders, contributing to planning, estimation, and continuous delivery of mission-critical functionality. 

This role requires residency within the Washington Metropolitan Area, with the ability and willingness to commute to Ashburn, VA office at least 1 to 2 days a week.   

Specific Duties 

  • Design and develop solutions within a complex Salesforce environment supporting a government customer. 

  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to envision and define scalable, user-centric Salesforce solutions. 

  • Lead solution architecture and design efforts, including architectural patterns and best practices. 

  • Develop, review, and troubleshoot custom Apex code and Lightning Web Components (LWC). 

  • Implement high levels of customization to meet unique customer requirements. 

  • Utilize Salesforce unlocked packages for modular development and deployment (preferred). 

  • Integrate Salesforce with external systems using secure and scalable integration patterns. 

  • Apply knowledge of enterprise security, web security protocols, and networking in solution design. 

  • Provide technical leadership in development estimation, planning, and task delegation. 

  • Participate in and support Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming. 

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for Salesforce-related topics within the project team. 

  • Collaborate with and mentor developers, analysts, and other team members. 

  • Continuously learn and apply new Salesforce technologies and domain knowledge relevant to the mission. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus ideally 10 years of work experience in the technical field 

  • 7+ years of Salesforce Administration and Development experience 

  • At least 2 years of experience providing Salesforce leadership on a technical delivery team  

  • Expert level experience using Salesforce to configure, code, and support integrations using any of the following: Salesforce process automation and workflow rules, Apex programming, batch jobs, sharing and security, Lightning component framework, reports/dashboards, Salesforce CI/CD capabilities, SSO, OAuth, and OIDC 

  • Experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC) 

  • Experience and knowledge of JavaScript frameworks 

  • At least 1 year of experience working in an automated development environment, using CI/CD tools such as GitLab / GitHub, Bamboo, Jenkins, SonarQube 

  • Experience developing against relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) as well as SOQL in Salesforce 

  • Comfortable with command line and scripting (Bash preferred) 

  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

 

  • Certified Salesforce Application Architect or Certified Salesforce System Architect 

  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification 

  • Experience with data migration to include integration, data cleansing, and import/export of large volumes of data 

  • Experience with development in a Government contracting environment 

  • Experience with Salesforce DX and Visualforce 

  • Experience developing Java-based services 

  • Experience utilizing ConnectedApps for security integration with other enterprise components. 

  • Experience with NamedCredentials, REST APIs, API security, and FFLIB libraries

Southpoint Consulting relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, as well as organizational and contract-specific requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $165,000 to $190,000/year.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position and is just one component of Southpoint's total compensation package for employees.
