About the Role:
The IT Specialist is responsible for the effective operation of IT services and support across the organization. The IT Specialist serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. The IT specialist plans and carries out exciting, complex assignments and develops new methods and approaches in a wide variety of IT specialties. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff
through the use of technology.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist users with account setup, password resets and basic system configurations
Provide first-level technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues
Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software components
Perform routine checks and updates on systems to ensure optimal performance
Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating problems when necessary
Collaborate with senior IT team members to troubleshoot complex problems and find effective solutions
Create and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations and issue resolutions
Assist in updating and expanding the IT knowledge base
Work closely with team members on IT projects, providing support and contributing to project success
Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry trends
Assis in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches
Follow security best practices and contribute to a secure IT environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Basic understanding of IT concepts and principles
Familiarity with hardware components and peripherals
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
Exposure to troubleshooting common software applications
Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
A desire to help others
Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America
High School diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
Experience with Mobile Device Management
Experience with Active Directory
Experience with Networking (DHCP, DNS,etc.)
Experience with Windows Server operation system
Experience with Microsoft 365 account administration
Physical Requirements:
- Requires walking and standing continuously throughout the day
Must be able to lift, carry, push up to 40+ pounds on a regular basis
Requires working under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and company needs
Reports to: IT Manager
Job Type: Full-time, Hourly Non-Exempt
Travel: Limited or no travel required
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00, extended hours as needed
