Database Administrator Jobs in Philadelphia, PA

Create and maintain company databases. Database administrators— frequently called DBAs— plan and implement policies/procedures for the storage and organization of information so that it is easy for data analysts to access. They ensure that databases function smoothly and efficiently by running tests, fixing errors as they arise, and establishing appropriate data relationships. Additionally, they may be asked to train other employees in database use or collaborate with teams such as marketing or sales to retrieve critical information.

Database administrators typically possess at least basic proficiency with SQL programming, and are frequently skilled in mySQL, Oracle, and/or Java. They are responsible for backing up and restoring these programs and the data they contain when necessary, as well as providing crucial security measures for records containing personal or financial information.
