Position Summary
Client seeking an experienced Data & Platform Engineer to support the implementation and optimization of our enterprise analytics platform.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role responsible for designing, building, and supporting Microsoft Fabric solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and implementation partners to deliver scalable, maintainable, and production-ready data and analytics solutions.
The ideal candidate has deep Microsoft Fabric expertise, strong data engineering and architecture skills, and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale analytics platforms. This role is focused on execution and technical delivery.
Responsibilities
Platform Development
- Design and implement scalable Microsoft Fabric solutions and components that support current and future business requirements.
- Develop technical standards and implementation patterns that promote reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
Data Engineering & Analytics
- Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Develop data ingestion and transformation processes from a variety of source systems.
- Implement incremental loading, change data capture, and data synchronization solutions.
- Design and implement dimensional models and reporting-ready data structures.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across the analytics platform.
- Support development of scalable reporting and self-service analytics solutions.
- Optimize query performance, data processing, and semantic model design.
- Establish standards for data modeling, transformation logic, and reporting structures.
Platform Operations
- Support deployment, release management, and environment promotion processes.
- Implement monitoring and operational support standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform, data integration, and performance issues.
- Support production readiness activities and operational handoff.
- Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural risks.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 7+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a related field, including 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Fabric solutions.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics platforms from design through production deployment.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders, developers, analysts, and technical teams to deliver analytics solutions.
- Strong experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and enterprise data warehousing solutions.
- Advanced SQL/T-SQL skills and experience with Python, Spark, and Delta Tables.
- Experience implementing data ingestion, transformation, incremental processing, and change data capture (CDC) solutions.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and reporting-oriented data design.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing data pipelines, semantic models, and Fabric workloads.
- Experience supporting production analytics environments and establishing scalable implementation patterns.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience migrating data platforms to Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience implementing CI/CD and DevOps practices for analytics solutions.
- Experience with large-scale Power BI implementations and enterprise semantic models.
- Experience working in hospitality, gaming, retail, or similarly data-intensive industries.
Work Location
- Remote within the United States.
- Ability to participate in meetings during Pacific Time business hours.
- Occasional travel to Customer location in Rohnert Park, California may be requested for workshops, planning sessions, or key project milestones.
