Position Overview
Join International Motors at our state-of-the-art diesel engine manufacturing facility in Huntsville, AL, as a Senior Network Engineer . In this role, you will operate, maintain, and enhance the critical IT and operational technology (OT) networks that keep our manufacturing environment running efficiently. Your day-to-day will include troubleshooting network performance, implementing and upgrading infrastructure, collaborating with plant leadership and technical teams, and leading projects that improve connectivity, reliability, and security across the facility.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing technical problem-solving with strategic project ownership. From installing and supporting SD-WAN, Ethernet switching, firewalls, and cloud-based Wi-Fi to consulting on future network technologies, you’ll play a key role in powering operations at a modern diesel engine manufacturing plant. Up to 25% travel may be required to support projects at other company locations.
Responsibilities- Plan, design, and implement local and wide-area networks, including infrastructure cabling and network solutions across multiple platforms and protocols.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot IT and OT network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Install, configure, and support technologies such as SD-WAN, IT/OT Ethernet switches, firewalls, controller-based, and cloud-managed Wi-Fi solutions.
- Partner with business leaders and plant teams to consult on network technologies and recommend solutions that support operational goals.
- Lead and manage network-related projects, including planning, execution, vendor coordination, and milestone tracking.
- Conduct cost analysis and vendor comparisons to evaluate and recommend the best-fit technologies and solutions.
- Provide technical training and develop proposals to support operational and business needs.
- Support network initiatives at other International Motors locations as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of IT Networking experience
OR
- Master's degree and at least 1 year of IT Networking experience
OR
- At least 5 years of IT Networking experience

Desired Skills
- CCNP certification or equivalent hands-on experience required.
- Experience working with network technologies from Cisco, Aruba, and Palo Alto.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to break large initiatives into manageable tasks and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage in technical discussions with IT teams and simplify complex concepts for plant leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting both IT and OT network environments is highly valued.
