  • Denmark, South Carolina
  • Full Time

Join one of Danske Bank's newest and most forward-thinking tribes, where we are transforming enterprise workflows and enabling automation at scale. We are looking for a hands-on Platform Architect to lead the design, build, and evolution of our enterprise Workflow Orchestration Platform.

This platform acts as the central control plane for orchestrating cross-domain workflows, enabling scalable, auditable, and event-driven process automation across the organization.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of architecture, software engineering, and platform engineering, taking ownership of both high-level architectural direction and hands-on implementation. You will play a key role in enabling product teams to deliver automation solutions through a self-service, cloud-native platform.

Key responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement a cloud-native Workflow Orchestration Platform (Camunda-based) on AWS/Kubernetes
  • Define and build CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and DevOps practices for platform and workflow delivery
  • Design scalable, resilient, and observable orchestration runtime with strong reliability engineering
  • Build event-driven integration patterns connecting workflows to services and legacy systems
  • Enable developer self-service through APIs, templates, and "golden paths"
  • Embed security, compliance, and governance directly into platform architecture and implementation
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams, contributing hands-on and mentoring best practices

Required skills:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Platform Architect, Senior Engineer, or similar role within enterprise platforms
  • Hands-on expertise with workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Camunda, Flowable, Temporal) and BPMN-based process design
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for provisioning and managing environments
  • Solid experience designing and building cloud-native platforms on AWS, including container-based architectures on Kubernetes
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes (EKS), container orchestration, and deployment patterns
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of DevOps practices, including building CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments
  • Experience enabling developer self-service platforms, including APIs, templates, and reusable components

Preferred technologies and skills:

  • Camunda 8, Self-managed
  • Kubernetes (Amazon EKS)
  • Java and Spring-based development
