Under the general direction of the Information Technology Division Life Outcome Improvement System (LOIS) Business Analysis and Quality Assurance Section Manager, the Business Data Analyst supports data - driven decision - making by analyzing business processes, documenting requirements, validating data, and translating business needs into technical specifications. The Business Data Analyst is responsible for performing business analysis, data analysis, and testing activities to support data cleansing, data migration, and data interface development for the planning, design, testing, implementation, and maintenance phase of the LOIS project. The position works closely with program staff, technical teams, and subject matter experts to ensure that business needs are accurately captured, data requirements are fully defined, and data - related solutions meet quality, accuracy, and security standards.
Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Working Conditions Open-spaced, partitioned cubicles when onsite. May require 24/7 on-call support as well as weekend support. Occasional travel including overnight or day trips for covered California locations. This position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change.
Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
