Kforce's client is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with a strong background in the utilities industry to support large-scale transformation and system initiatives. This role will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to drive requirements, support system enhancements, and ensure high-quality delivery across billing and customer-facing platforms. While experience with Customer Information Systems (CIS), including Customer/1 (C1) billing, is beneficial, it is not required. A strong foundation in utility operations is essential.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements aligned to utility operations and system capabilities
  • Act as a liaison between business and IT teams to ensure alignment on priorities, scope, and delivery outcomes
  • Support initiatives across meter-to-cash processes, including billing, rates, and customer data management
  • Collaborate with development and architecture teams to implement enhancements across billing and related systems
  • Analyze operational and billing data, generate insights, and support decision-making through reporting and data validation
  • Prepare test plans, review test results, and develop reports and metrics to track progress and quality across all phases
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system or billing discrepancies to ensure business continuity
  • Maintain detailed documentation of business processes, requirements, and system changes, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry standards* 4-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in utility, energy, or CIS-related projects
  • Strong understanding of utility operations, including meter-to-cash, billing, rates, and customer data management
  • Experience with requirements gathering, business process mapping, and stakeholder engagement
  • Proven ability to work in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Customer Information Systems (CIS), including Customer/1 (C1) billing
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Xray, or DBeaver
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation
  • Experience supporting data migration, system modernization, or automation initiatives
  • Background working with large system integrators or enterprise utility clients
