Director of Technology

The Director of Technology provides leadership, planning, coordination, and oversight for all district technology systems and services. This position is responsible for ensuring that technology infrastructure, instructional technology, cybersecurity, and information systems effectively support the districts educational and operational goals.The Director of Technology works collaboratively with district and school leaders to promote innovative, secure, and efficient use of technology for students, staff, and the community.Qualifications:Associates degree or high in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field requiredMinimum of five years of experience in technology leadership, systems administration, or related fieldExperience in K-12 education preferredDemonstrated knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity, data systems, device management, and instructional technologyStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPerformance Responsibilities:Oversee all district technology operations, infrastructure, and support servicesDevelop and implement long-range technology plans aligned with district goalsManage district networks, servers, wireless systems, cybersecurity measures, and data systemsSupervise technology staff and coordinate work assignments and professional developmentSupport instructional technology initiatives that enhance teaching and learningEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local technology regulations and data privacy requirementsOversee technology purchasing, budgeting, inventory, and vendor relationshipsCoordinate districtwide device deployment, maintenance, and replacement cyclesProvide leadership in disaster recovery planning and system continuityCollaborate with school and district administrators to identify technology needs and solutionsMonitor emerging technologies and recommend improvements to district systems and practicesJob SpecificationAbility to:Sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods of timeLift and carry technology equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 poundsTravel between district locations as neededRespond to technology emergencies or urgent situations outside of normal work hours when necessaryPerform duties requiring visual acuity, manual dexterity, and hearing sufficient to troubleshoot and repair technology equipmentThe job of a Director of Technology involves adapting to a changing educational environment and therefore, while accurate, this list is not exhaustive.
