Title: Data Center Technician II Duration : 6 Months Location: Boardman, OR Schedule flexibility required, including potential night shift positions Shift options include Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM or 7:30 AM-6:00 PM Contingent workers are expected to work holidays if scheduled (regular pay, not holiday pay) First two weeks: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM (Training) As a Data Center Technician, you serve as one of many primary resolvers for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. You possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved. You work well with a team. You are receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required for the position. Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Networking knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP (2+years) Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team Receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required Linux operating systems (2+ years) Experience with server hardware (2+ years) Understanding of storage devices Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system Familiarity with hardware components inside a server/computer (2+ years) Degree or Certification: High school or equivalent diploma Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+) Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience Additional Qualifications: A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+ Data center experience (2+ years) Technical Skills: Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs Understanding of cooling systems and power distribution Linux/Unix command line knowledge Experience with ticketing systems and documentation Ability to perform intermediate network troubleshooting Works within a team with responsibilities that may span multiple site locations within a single region Applies knowledge and technical skill to build, implement, and meet assigned goals Focuses on tactical execution where the problem, opportunity, and strategy are already defined. Trains new team members, sharing technical knowledge to support team development and continuity Physical Environment and Safety Protocols: Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Standing/walking for extended periods Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Capability to work in various environmental conditions Temperature fluctuations dependent on seasonal changes and external weather conditions Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles including dust Ability to adapt to varying temperature conditions within the data center environment Ability to follow required security protocols including metal detection screening KPI: Performance based on queue priority expectations Professional conduct Team cohesion and collaboration Work is reviewed periodically, with some guidance expected; technical solutions may require refinement.
