Responsible for database code upkeep. Database developers maximize the information system’s efficiency through clearing out inefficient or ineffective coding, streamlining processes, and ensuring that protocols remain up to date. They make sure that data is easily retrievable and track database performance to identify/resolve issues as they arise. They also construct/remove ad hoc scripts when necessary.

Database developers are typically adept at data analysis, unit testing, and creative problem solving. They research advances in their field, adapting and integrating new successful techniques into their everyday work whenever possible.
