Torch Technologies is seeking a qualified candidate to support the Armys goal of providing a single diagnostics solution for vehicle data buses. The DS-Viper application currently supports 70+ platforms across multiple data protocols, enabling technicians to interact with onboard electronic systems, access advanced diagnostic data, and efficiently maintain mission readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize in-house software and hardware tools to interrogate and analyze platform data bus traffic (vehicle, ship, weapon, etc.).
  • Develop data parsers and configuration files for the DS-Viper application to interface with target platforms.
  • Support and enhance DS-Vipers compatibility with existing and future data bus protocols.
  • Work with unmanaged DLLs and update user interfaces as required.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure DS-Viper meets evolving platform needs and Army readiness objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of applicable software engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Framework.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) for building desktop applications.
  • Demonstrated experience working with XML for data serialization and configuration.
  • In-depth understanding and practical application of the Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) design pattern.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, J1939, J1708, or similar industrial/automotive protocols.
  • Familiarity with network protocol analysis tools (e.g., Vehicle Spy, Wireshark).
  • Experience working in a Scrum development team.
  • Experience performing bitwise operations on data traffic is a plus.
