Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating project team activities and support assigned Project Managers (PMs), if applicable. Under close supervision, performs work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

General GIS experience is helpful to understand the capability the team is supporting.

This role will be tasked with leading internal smaller projects (typically $500k or less spend) along with representing AEP to ensure adequate delivery of co-sourced projects

Assists in leading a team of cross-functional professionals for a specific period to deliver high-quality technology

solutions to the business. Collaboratively helps the project team create and agree upon a plan to deliver a solution, then establishes a baseline for ongoing tracking, whether by scope or functionality.

Assist the team in adhering to the selected project management methodology (SCRUM) and standard practices to deliver the solution, while continuously keeping the project team and stakeholders updated on progress, challenges, and strategies to address those challenges.

Help initiate , plan, execute, monitor and control, and close projects in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balanced approach to achieve short- and long-range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include Assist with financial reporting of base and intermediate projects cash flows, budget variance, cost tracking/analysis.

Perform varied assignments demonstrating and providing technical knowledge and analytical techniques to solution of problems or analysis to internal and external customers. Depending on the needs of the department, this work could focus on outage planning, risk management, operation and maintenance of equipment, new customer requests, new construction, and/or determining work prerequisites and specifications.

Coordinate and participate in company and contractor meetings covering project work, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment. Ensure clear minutes and action items.

Assist in evaluating contracting methods, reviewing drawings and preparing basic cost estimates using established standards and include contracting risk strategy. Assist with the creation of contract requisitions, work authorizations, and processing change orders.

Assist with the tracking of Contractor costs. Participate in the planning and organization of project work activities.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that work prerequisites and deadlines are met. Assist in negotiating with vested parties to adjust schedule, cost, and general project coordination due to workload, weather, and other scheduling conflicts.

Document project's risk analysis and generate project risk assessment report. Work with others in both supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.

Communicate with stakeholders to update plans, checklists, schedules, statuses, and budgets.

Assist with proactive management of project risk. Develop an understanding of the AEP project management organizational standards and assist in the management of projects to those standards.

Adhere to the guidance and standards put forth by the AEP Project Management Governance Committee.

Assist in the administration of the change management process associated with programs and projects to properly characterize changes to the project and assess the impact on the project objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management.

No experience required with a qualified bachelor's or associate degree.

With a High School Diploma, a minimum of two (2) years' qualified experience.

$61,647.00-77,057.50 USD

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidates ability to work from an approved work location.
