Software Development Engineer II, Affordability (Exchange) The Exchange platform is an India-first affordability initiative allowing customers to return old devices for discounts on new purchases. Since its inception in 2016, it has rapidly grown and become a key lever for Amazon India business. Our vision for Exchange includes: Providing more opportunities and increasing categories for exchange Reaching more customers with exchange offers Improving discoverability of Exchange Enhancing customer experience post-exchange orders Additionally, we aim to provide the best experience for exchange partners to increase their value and competition, benefiting customers. Our Development team plays a pivotal role in this program, with the mission to build a comprehensive solution for the India business. As a software development engineer on the team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development, and launch of core product features. You will significantly influence our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead best practices that enable a quality product. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, and development of efficiency and resiliency-related services and tools. Position Responsibilities: Work closely with senior engineers to design, implement, and deploy applications that impact the Amazon.in business. Own the delivery of an integral piece of a system or application. Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments. Assist directly and indirectly in the continual hiring and development of technical talent. Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies, and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts. Key Job Responsibilities Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market. Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry. Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed. Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use. Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems. Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems. 3+ years of Video Games Industry experience (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops). Experience programming with at least one software programming language. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
