Software Development Engineer 3 (Unreal Engine)

Kforce has a client in Redmond, WA that is seeking a Software Development Engineer 3 responsible for improving and fixing issues impacting game stability and developer workflows, including data validation, test automation and Unreal Engine upgrade integrations.

Responsibilities:

• Expand and maintain data validation systems
• Implement data validation telemetry
• Improve validation performance
• Add new validators and improve content creator workflows
• Engine stability and maintenance
• Integrate Unreal Engine service releases, assist with major upgrades
• Investigate and fix issues arising from Unreal upgrade integrations
• Monitor daily test automation results and investigate failures
• Assess ownership of test failures and fix or hand off where appropriate
• Improve and expand engine test coverage
• Implement Unreal editor and automation telemetry* 5+ years of experience working in C++
• 5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine development; Bonus for experience with data validation and Gauntlet automation
• Proficiency in writing efficient and effective unit tests
• Experience using data and observability solutions to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for automation and build health
• Experience with Perforce source control system
• Experience with CI/CD tools, e.g. Jenkins, ADO
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including agile methodologies and continuous integration and deployment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis of critical problems
• Outstanding communication and writing skills, including ability to ask questions or share information with clarity and brevity in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with Jira work item tracking
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
