Backend Software Development Engineer

Zillow, Inc. seeks Backend Software Development Engineer in Seattle, WA.

Job Duties: Participate in all stages of application development, from architecture design, to development, to deployment, to application monitoring; Iterate quickly in an agile development process; Develop infrastructure for a cloud platform that can handle high-volume requests; Design relational, NoSQL, and Distributed Processing solutions using the latest technologies; Ensure software is production-ready and is properly monitored for metrics, logging, and performance profiling; Evaluate and recommend the best software designs and architecture for scalability; Effectively communicate with others on the team including peer code reviews; Provide feedback to influence product direction. Telecommuting permitted.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, or a related field, and five (5) years of progressively related experience in job offered or five (5) years of progressively related experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained.

Special Skills:

1) Testing web applications (5 years of progressive experience);

2) Automation QA (5 years of progressive experience);

3) Unix/Linux (2 years of experience);

4) Java or similar modern programming languages (2 years of experience); and

5) SDLC (2 years of experience).

Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

Salary: $190,486 - $214,000 per year.
