DESCRIPTION

Our mission is to build and deploy best-in-class tools to improve the selling partner experience and accelerate selling partner growth across Amazon stores. Internally, our tools are used on a daily basis to make our teammates' jobs easier. Our customers are Amazon's vendors, as well as our global Retail teams including vendor managers, customer service managers, buying specialists and other teams that support our vendor relationships. Our remit is expanding on multiple dimensions as we increase our feature set on behalf of North America Stores and add new WW marketplaces.

To enable this expansion, we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, directly manage a team of talented Software Development Engineers, and work closely with a team of product managers and other partners and stakeholders in the US and abroad.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive our overall strategy by defining product features, architecting scalable systems, and spearheading best practices for quality product development.
  • Solve complex algorithmic problems and build services that can handle millions of requests globally.
  • Leverage advanced technologies and AI to infer insights from various data sources, providing the most relevant suggestions to our customers.
  • Collaborate with top-notch software developers, applied scientists, seasoned product managers, and creative designers to raise the bar on customer experience.
  • Have significant influence over both long-term strategic needs and short-term tactical wins, balancing trade-offs between them.
  • Guide team members in creating robust, scalable designs and lead processes that improve quality and reduce operational load.
  • Participate in people development and hiring, ensuring we're building the right team for our long-term needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
