Job Description
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Onsite Phoenix, AZ (Day 1)
Client: American Express (AMEX)
Responsibilities:
Architect and implement automation for cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with cloud engineers and application developers to translate requirements into functional code.
Promote and implement SDLC and CI/CD best practices.
Coordinate implementation across the full stack including:
Networking
DNS
Load balancing
Kubernetes
Terraform
Other cloud tooling
Develop Terraform providers, REST APIs, and supporting tools to manage infrastructure systems.
Requirements:
Strong development background.
Solid understanding of cloud and infrastructure components.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to analyze issues systematically and create detailed solution plans.
Capable of training others and advocating for relevant technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Experience: 10+ years in production support, ITSM, and related fields (incident management, change management, disaster recovery, problem management).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in API technology stack, batch file processing, monitoring and support, automation and scripting, SQL, and release management.
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the banking industry, including relevant regulations and best practices.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Flexibility: Willingness to work late shifts and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: Relevant certifications in ITIL, SQL, or other related areas.
Tools: Experience with monitoring tools, automation frameworks, and release management software
