Job Description

The Senior Project Manager will be part of an IT team that provides fully engineered control system solutions for Generation power plants. The Senior Project Manager focuses on delivery support of any replacements or upgrade of Power System Controls (SCADA, Ovation DCS, Turbine Controls, CEMS, Plant Data Services) and provides all project management, engineering design, system integration, test, and commissioning services to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers. As the Senior Project Manager, you will be an essential part of the group with other responsibilities for project execution, contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial return for projects. Senior Manager will provide management and strategic direction to a project team(s) and support the project development, budget, and schedule at the portfolio level.

Key Responsibilities

Plans, forecasts, and manages project execution from start to finish, working with technical leads and/or group managers or designated mentor as needed, including necessary activities, procurements, resources, and schedule milestones.
• Assures supplier's commitments to customers are met, following the contract, and seeks to improve customer satisfaction through a resolution to problems with speed and professionalism and consistent customer interaction. (communication, and customer meetings, e.g., kick-off, status reviews)
• Utilizes contract terms and conditions, and negotiation skills to maximize scope and assisting with project financial management of the project (cash flow, forecasts, etc.)
• Minimizes exposure to risk on the assigned projects by reviewing data from project sources and knows when to engage management for the final resolution of various issues. Make preliminary resolutions and recommendations during management reviews for such issues.
• Works with delivery team to ensure project stays within allocated project budget (both capital and O&M), change requests are reviewed and aligned with the prioritized product backlog, and project variances are explained.
Project Closure
• Update project stakeholder and complete Benefits Realization Closure activities
• Manages project budget and actively seeks to utilize company protocols and tools as appropriate, to meet established budgetary and schedule requirements.
• Apply quality procedures and enforces best practices. Comply with quality and schedule requirements, using appropriate gate reviews as established in quality procedures, and maintain related documentation for use during internal and external audits
• Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to Client to ensure highest quality standards are met.
• Managing resources (including Vendors) according to plan (or contract)
• Manage and report site activities in support of outages
• Participate in various assignments and meetings to acquire additional experience, sharpen skills, and increase the knowledge base

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate or equivalent.
• Certified Scrum Master
• 5-7 years of experience leading projects or directing key business initiatives or related experience.
• Experience with Turbine Controls Retrofit
• Experience with Automation Controls (DCS systems, other competitors)
• Experience with Plant scope and site management
• Proven track record of successfully implementing power plant deployment projects (Power System Controls -SCADA, Ovation DCS, Turbine Controls, CEMS, Plant Data Services, Energy Procurement and Contracts) under highly regulated utility organization.
• Travel up to 30%
• Demonstrated experience achieving desired outcomes and actions through negotiation and influence.
• Knowledge of Project Management Tools\: JIRA, Qlikview, Workfront, PRISM, UMT 360
• Demonstrated experience using Project Methodologies\: Agile, Scrum, SAFe, CIDLC, SDLC, Waterfall
• Customer focused and ability to understand and appropriately respond to clients’ business needs.
• Demonstrated experience prioritizing activities, delegating, monitoring assignments, and holding team members accountable for results.
• Demonstrated experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with internal employees, third party entities, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
• Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas; develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity; manage risks appropriately; manage information; and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
