Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team responsible for building and evolving data-driven platforms that support complex analytical and operational workflows. The role focuses on designing systems that improve the quality, accessibility, and reliability of data while enabling scalable, high-performance applications. You will work across a wide range of problem spaces, from early-stage prototyping to production-grade systems, contributing to the modernization of existing platforms and the development of innovative new solutions. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys tackling ambiguous challenges, evaluating new technologies pragmatically, and owning outcomes end-to-end-from discovery through delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to understand objectives, identify opportunities, and define scalable solutions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and architecture patterns to determine their applicability
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and pilot solutions to validate ideas and reduce uncertainty
  • Translate prototypes into production-ready systems with appropriate architecture, testing, observability, and reliability
  • Design and implement scalable solutions supporting data workflows and user-facing applications
  • Work across layers of the technology stack, including Back End services, data pipelines, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and deployment automation
  • Contribute to modernization efforts by adopting cloud-native and platform-driven approaches where appropriate
  • Improve system performance, resiliency, and operational efficiency across critical platforms
  • Make pragmatic engineering tradeoffs balancing speed, complexity, scalability, and long-term maintainability
  • Participate in and lead technical design discussions, influencing architectural direction
  • Collaborate with partner teams to integrate shared services and reusable components
  • Support production systems, resolving issues and implementing long-term improvements
Qualifications
  • Significant experience designing and building complex software systems in production environments
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies across unfamiliar domains
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (eg, Python, Java, C#)
  • Experience building proof-of-concepts and greenfield solutions , and evolving them into production systems
  • Strong system design and architectural skills across application, data, and infrastructure layers
  • Experience with cloud platforms (eg, AWS, GCP) and modern deployment patterns
  • Familiarity with APIs, relational data systems, data processing frameworks, and distributed architectures
  • Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and observability tooling
  • Strong debugging and production support experience in critical environments
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, evolving problem spaces
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

In addition to base pay, direct-hire employees may be eligible for client offered benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, and paid leave where required by applicable law. Eligibility may vary based on factors such as location and hire date and is subject to change.
