JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, compiling, analyzing,interpreting, and maintaining data essential to supporting various departmentsin enhancing transit performance. This role involves analyzing historicalservice performance data and evaluating the potential impacts of proposedservice changes. The position requires proficiency in handling large datasets,applying advanced technical skills, conducting in-depth analysis and research,and generating comprehensive reports to support informed decision-making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Utilize business intelligence and data analytics best practices to providetimely, relevant, and actionable insights that support monitoring transitperformance and guide decision-making across Operations departments.Gather, summarize, and prepare data for geospatial and statistical analysis.Proficiency in Data modeling.End user education and training of data tools and modeling.Develop and enhance reporting, analysis, and visualization of performancedata, metrics, and measures to enable staff to effectively align with andmonitor progress toward overall business strategies, goals, and objectives.Develop fact sheets, graphs, and written reports on research resultsPerform advanced data analysis and manipulation of extensive amounts of datausing statistical software.Query data from a variety of systems to produce data sets for analysis.Assist in the preparation of presentations and the communication of resultsto groups of people.Use and apply different statistical tools including, but not limited to,trend analysis, root cause analysis, regression analysis, experimental design,statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, control charting, etc.Develop and document the data flow, quality control and validation methodsused for data inputs

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or arelated field is preferred.Minimum of 3 years of full-time progressively responsible experience inbusiness analysis or a related disciplineAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient tosuccessfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed aboveExcellent Customer Service skills, including but not limited to the abilityto clearly and effectively communicate with customers, are a must.
