AWS is looking for technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding and the drive and vision to take AWS Da Center Operions to the next level. The successful candide will have experience creing/devising stregies, mentoring people all levels, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions. This position involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and includes participion in an on-call rotion.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operion of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS da centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment th ensure our customers have continual access to the innovion they rely on. Effective May 15, 2017, logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United Stes)
Ability to travel to or commute between da center locions as needed
Willingness to temporarily work alternive sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operional
Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operional stus of assigned facility
Candides must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active da center sites as required by business needs.

Key job responsibilities
The successful candide will be operionally responsible for a Da Center. Some high-level responsibilities include:
Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to da center technicians and operors
Manage the performance of a diverse team(s) of da center operion professionals with varying skills across different locions
Developing Career Phs for the employees and making updes in our internal tools.
Recruit and train da technicians to ensure approprie staffing levels
Ensure effective and efficient management of day-to-day da center operions including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logistics
Fast learn or act as the subject mter expert across all aspects in da center operions
Ensure all operional KPIs and metrics are being measured and met
Inspire and guide improvement in team process, technology innovion and automion
Manage Large Scale Events (outages) and act as the call leader
Manage and improve the workflows and through-put for da centers operions
Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
Maintain the on-call schedule coordining absence and vacions
Be passione about the quality and quantity of services being provided, and continuously strive to improve our Customer Experience
This role supports da centers in various operional stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locions for training until your designed site becomes fully operional.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 4+ years of Informion Technology (IT) experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mhemics or equivalent
- 2+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of operions and on-call support for da center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing experience
- Experience in technical writing in a relevant field
- Certificion in an applicable field like A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certificion, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- Experience with system management tools and client/server environments

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compension will be determined based on factors including experience, qualificions, and locion.
