Senior software engineer

Warehouses still run on clipboards and barcode guns. Every day, billions of dollars in pallets move through docks where humans manually scan, count, and verify - and when something goes wrong, no one notices until a customer complains.

LuminX is changing that. We build AI camera systems that watch every pallet move in real time, read every label and barcode automatically, and surface errors the moment they happen. We're already deployed with major customers, and we're growing quickly. We raised $5.5M in seed funding from top investors and have a senior team that includes alumni from leading robotics and AI companies.

We\'re hiring a platform and product engineer to own the systems that tie LuminX together - the cloud infrastructure, Back End services, and customer-facing product surfaces that connect our edge devices, our models, our customers, and our operations team. You\'ll be the primary owner of everything from the device boundary up. You\'ll work alongside our robotics engineers, who own the on-device software, and our ML team, who own the perception models. You\'ll be the connective tissue that makes it all work as a product.

This is a startup, so the work is real. You\'ll ship code to live customer sites, own systems end-to-end that don\'t yet have a runbook, and make architectural decisions that will shape how LuminX scales. If you want to write specs and hand them off, this isn\'t the role. If you want to build, ship, and own - your at the right place.

• Build and operate the cloud infrastructure that powers LuminX - AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, IAM), Terraform, Kubernetes, the full picture.
• Design and ship the Back End services and APIs behind our core product workflows: device management, data ingestion, analytics, labeling, permissions, and model orchestration.
• Build the data pipelines that move video, inference results, and telemetry between our edge fleet and the cloud.
• Contribute to the Front End - internal tools, dashboards, and customer-facing UI.
• Partner with the robotics team on edge fleet deployment, monitoring, and OTA updates.
• Establish the engineering practices - CI/CD, observability, incident response - that let a small team move fast without breaking things.

• 3+ years building production Back End and infrastructure systems
• Strong AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform experience
• Comfortable across backend, infrastructure, and some Front End work
• Solid distributed systems instincts and Linux fluency
• You\'ve shipped real software that real users depend on

• Experience managing fleets of edge or IoT devices in production
• Streaming or video pipeline experience (RTSP, GStreamer, Kafka, Kinesis)
• MLOps tooling and workflows (model deployment, versioning, evaluation)
• Hands-on tinkering with Embedded platforms like Jetson or Raspberry Pi
