23andMe is looking for an Associate Product Manager (or Product Manager, depending on experience) to join our Product team.
Weve spent over a decade perfecting how we deliver genetic data. Our next major challenge isn't the data itself; its what people do with it. We want to ensure our members deeply understand their results, use them to make healthier life choices, and feel empowered to contribute to research that helps future patients.
In this role, youll work end-to-end across the member journey, turning complex genomics into intuitive consumer experiences. Powered by the worlds largest consented genetic research platform, the features you ship here will directly shape real-world health outcomes and drive life-changing discoveries for millions of people.

What Youll Do
Navigate the Member Journey: Drive engagement at every stagefrom kit ordering and the waiting period to results delivery and long-term retentionpartnering across vertical teams.
Translate Complex Science: Lead the user-facing design and copy that transforms clinical and statistical complexity into clear, actionable insights.
Stay Close to Users: Partner with our Consumer Insights team to conduct qualitative research (interviews, observation, follow-ups) so your product decisions are deeply grounded in real user experiences.
Run Lean Experiments: Rapidly ship and test micro-flows, gamification, and in-product nudges to let user data dictate our product roadmap.
Accelerate with AI: Leverage AI prototyping and LLM coding tools to build working mockups quickly without getting stuck in engineering backlogs.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Build seamless relationships with engineering, design, research, clinical, and marketing teamsacting as the translator who keeps everyone aligned.
Champion the Product Publicly: Partner with our social media team to create engaging video content that breaks down complex genomic features and helps educate our community on camera.
What Youll Bring
Educational Background: Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field like computer science, computational biology, bioengineering, statistics, or design. Coursework or research in genomics, health, or human-subjects research is a major plus.
Experience: 02 years of relevant experience for the Associate PM track (new grads welcome) , or 2+ years of dedicated product management experience for the PM track.
Experimentation Mindset: A proven track record of testing, learning, and iterating. You have tangible evidence of shipping something, measuring its impact, and changing course based on data.
Technical & Scientific Literacy: Comfort reading data, writing simple analyses (SQL, Python, or R) , and diving deeply into clinical or genomic concepts so you can easily translate them for non-experts.
Dynamic Communication: You write clearly, can present without slides, and easily adjust your register for audiences ranging from members to clinicians to senior leadership.
Collaboration: You naturally build relationships across functions and seniority levels, and you know how to hold your ground on product decisions without making it personal.
Content & Camera Comfort (Plus): You are comfortable on social platforms, have an interest in creating video content, and are open to representing 23andMe on camera to help tell our product's story.
Industry Exposure (Plus): Experience with regulated consumer products, healthcare, or research is a nice-to-have but not required.
Note: Ability to work from 23andMe's office in Palo Alto, CA a minimum of 3 days per week strongly preferred.

Pay Transparency
23andMe takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for a candidate based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

$110,000-$160,000
