The Opportunity:
Join our team as a Product Owner for a DHS Generative AI product and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of DHS AI solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to drive product strategy, ensure successful adoption, and accelerate delivery of DHS component mission use cases. If you are passionate about product management and have a knack for generative AI, we want you on our team. In this role, you'll be the voice of the customer, bridging the gap between mission goals and the technical development team.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders internal and customer facing, providing updates on product progress and gathering product feedback.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, UX/UI, and customer support, to ensure successful product delivery.
- Drive agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Own and manage the product backlog, including creating, refining, and prioritizing user stories and epics. Work closely with the chief engineer and architect in current and future epic definitions.
- Monitor product performance and iterate on the roadmap as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote product adoption within HQ and component organization
- Gather feedback from users to improve the product and training materials.
- Work with the support team to ensure timely and effective resolution of user issues.
- Provide managerial and oversight to both functional and technical team performance
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to obtain DHS EOD
- BA or equivalent + 10 years of experience
- Experience with Agile development environments, including familiarity with ServiceNow, Confluence/JIRA, or similar KM platforms.
- Strong communication skills; able to brief senior leaders and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in qualitative user research methods, including proficiency in conducting structured user interviews, developing interview guides, and applying techniques for uncovering user motivations and behaviors as outlined in established UX research frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Desired:
- Experience with SAFe Agile
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certification (or ability to obtain certification in first 3 months)

Pay Range :
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
