Location: Livonia, MI

Pay Rate: $62.61/hour

Schedule: Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite Per Week

We are seeking an experienced Transmission Software Engineer for a high-impact contract opportunity supporting advanced automatic transmission controls development. This role focuses on software design, testing, validation, and feature ownership within a fast-paced automotive engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage automatic transmission software features using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow

Generate and modify embedded C-code for transmission control systems

Coordinate software validation activities with HIL and calibration teams

Develop and execute unit testing to verify software functionality and performance

Manage software requirements, issue tracking, and release updates using Agile and SDLC processes

Create technical documentation including test reports, interface specifications, and calibration guides

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize software performance, testability, and reliability

Support software quality metrics including decision coverage, MC/DC, and line coverage analysis

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required

4+ years of experience developing automatic transmission controls software

Strong experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and embedded C programming

Knowledge of Agile software development and software testing methodologies

Experience with software lifecycle tools such as GitHub, ClearCase, or JIRA

Familiarity with automotive calibration and diagnostic tools preferred

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
