Job Description: SAP PP + Variant Configuration (VC) – Lead / Solution Architect

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead SAP PP + Variant Configuration Consultant to drive end-to-end solution design, implementation, and transformation programs across manufacturing and supply chain landscapes. The role requires deep functional expertise in SAP PP and VC , combined with strong leadership in S/4HANA transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Architecture

• Lead end-to-end solution design for SAP PP and Variant Configuration (LO-VC / AVC)
• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions aligned to S/4HANA best practices
• Drive fit-gap analysis , business process mapping, and design sign-off

2. Implementation & Delivery Leadership

• Lead S/4HANA implementations, rollouts, and conversions
• Act as functional lead / solution architect for PP + VC streams
• Manage delivery across global and multi-site manufacturing environments
• Ensure integration with QM, SD, MM, IBP / PPDS / MES systems

3. Variant Configuration Expertise

• Design and implement:
• Configurable materials (KMATs)
• Characteristics, classes, dependencies
• Pricing and BOM/Routing determination via VC
• Exposure to Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) preferred

4. Stakeholder Management

• Engage with business stakeholders, process owners, and IT leadership
• Drive workshops, solution alignment, and governance reviews
• Act as a trusted advisor for manufacturing transformation

5. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor functional consultants (onshore/offshore)
• Drive competency development for PP/VC capability
• Own delivery quality, timelines, and outcomes

Required Skills & Experience

Functional Expertise

• 10–15+ years in SAP with strong focus on PP and VC
• Proven experience in:
• Discrete and/or process manufacturing industries
• Complex configurable products and make-to-order scenarios
• Deep understanding of:
• MRP, Production Orders, Demand Management
• BOM, Routing, Work Centers
• Integration with SD/MM/QM

S/4HANA Experience

• Hands-on experience in:
• S/4HANA implementations / conversions / rollouts
• Fiori-based processes and simplification impacts
• Knowledge of PPDS integration / embedded PPDS (good to have)

Variant Configuration

• Strong hands-on with:
• LO-VC (mandatory)
• Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) – preferred
• Expertise in modeling complex product structures

Notes:

• Must-Have Skills: PP & Variant Configuration in Discrete Manufacturing -

-They need Discrete Manufacturing expertise because they build physical, distinct units (like industrial marking systems, automation machinery, and bronze/granite products).

-The SAP PP (Production Planning) and Variant Configuration (VC) skills are critical for them because Variant Configuration allows a manufacturer to handle complex, custom-configured products on the production line
