We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead and manage complex technical projects from initiation through completion. this role will oversee large-scale technology initiatives, including the implementation and integration of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), software solutions, and traffic management projects supporting government agencies.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with proven project management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale or high-impact projects from a technical perspective
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and manage detailed technical project plans, resource allocation, and performance tracking metrics.
- Proactively identify technical risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Communicate project progress, issues, and results to senior leadership, stakeholders, and customers.
- Manage and motivate project team members, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with others within the department and other departments as needed.
- Bachelors degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
- Masters degree or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive technical project management experience, including leading large complex projects or multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), transportation technology, or government infrastructure experience preferred.
- Must have excellent computer skills, working knowledge of MS office. Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must maintain highest level of professionalism under pressure.
- Ability to work in high paced environment and ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact with customers and all levels of personnel in a professional manner.
- Ability to travel throughout Canada and the United States to support projects.
Physical Conditions / Requirements
- No unusual physical requirements. It requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is done in a comfortable indoor facility.
- Occasional Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
