POSITION OVERVIEW
The Solution Architect partners with Product Managers, Agile Team Members, and Engineers to define technical requirements, principles and models that guide solution decisions for IT systems. The Solution Architect analyzes and translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions which integrate across applications, systems, and platforms to achieve business objectives. The Solution Architect looks across applications, technology, and data to develop roadmaps that outline how solutions will be structured.
The Solution Architect contributes to the development of the architectural runway, identifies enablers at the solution level (program or large solution level), and supports Enterprise Architects in maintaining the balance between intentional architecture and emergent design.
In addition to the Solution Architect’s typical responsibilities, the Solution Architect could be expected to be part of the Agile Team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Defines the principles to guide solution decisions for the enterprise
- Designs and implements solution architectures based on the organization’s business requirements and IT strategies
- Defines models, including solution patterns, to guide solution decisions for Business Intelligence Reporting
- Consults with application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture
- Develops the solutions viewpoint, in which business, information and technology viewpoints are synthesized into solutions that deliver capabilities to the organization
- Defines repeatable rules for how to implement Business Intelligence solutions in more repeatable or reusable ways, such as solution patterns
- Drive consensus on complex matters involving diverse stakeholders where there may be varying points of view.
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics or Computer Science OR Equivalent Work Experience OR Equivalent Work Experience would qualify, if no bachelor’s degree then would look for higher end (8 years) of work experience.
- Typically requires 5-8 years of experience working data and business intelligence tools, both technical and business rooted
- Strong verbal & written communication skills are a must
- Ability to build dashboards and visualizations in BI tools
- Ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience
- SQL and database querying skills
- Experience building reusable, standardized BI Solutions for a customer
Preferred or Specialized - Good to have skills
- Snowflake coding experience
- Insurance industry experience
- Advanced Data Visualization & Storytelling experience
- Predictive analytics
- AI & machine learning experience related to business intelligence insights
- Experience in Agile work environment; Experience with data governance & data standardization processes
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
- Any BI Tool certifications would be advantageous

Pay Range :
$94,000 - $129,000 per year
- This range is based on the expected level of experience and skills for this position. Final compensation will depend on individual
