Northrop Grummans Defense Systems sector is hiring a DevOps Integration & Test Lead Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (level 5) to join its team. This opportunity is in Roy UT, Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville AL and will support the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Forces sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
As a DevOps Integration & Test Lead Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (level 5) overseeing multiple team leads, you drive the successful execution of diverse technical efforts including hardware simulation, virtual software integration lab buildout, automated integration pipelines, and full-scale integration and testing. You coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration, quality, and timely delivery across complex initiatives.
Leveraging your deep technical expertise and leadership skills, you establish scalable processes and promote best practices that enhance efficiency and system reliability throughout the development lifecycle. Your role is critical in aligning technical execution with program goals while mentoring leaders and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading system integration and test efforts for multi-disciplinary software projects, including coordinating across geographically distributed teams.
- Experience with modeling and simulation frameworks
- Developing and executing comprehensive test plans to validate functionality, performance, and reliability requirements in alignment with program specifications and customer needs.
- Creating system models and test architecture that enable thorough and repeatable software testing.Managing requirements traceability through integration and test phases, ensuring coverage and compliance.
- Collaborating with software developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues promptly.
- Overseeing test execution including functional, performance, and regression testing.
- Mentoring and coaching software test engineers and cross-functional team members, fostering skill development and best practices.
- Leading communication with internal and external stakeholders including reporting on test status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and security requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in STEM with 14 years experience; 12 years experience with a Masters degree in STEM; or 10 years experience with a PhD.
- Must be a U.S Citizen with an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).
- 5 years of proven leadership experience leading distributed teams and coordinating across multiple projects and technical domains.
- 5 years of experience with software testing methodologies, test planning, systems integration, and verification techniques to include hands-on experience developing and maintaining software system models to support rigorous testing and validation.
- 5 years of experience with Agile development frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation best practices. Demonstrated ability to manage requirements traceability and maintain alignment between system requirements and verification activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering approach Experience working in the defense industry or weapon systems
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadership and interfacing with customers and partner organizations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience driving continuous improvement initiatives in software development and testing processes.
- Understanding of SSCMAN 91-710 Range Safety Compliance
- Experience in developing an Operational Concept (OpsCon) document.
- Experience with large complex design and hardware integration efforts
- Active Sentinel SAP clearance.

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $276,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
