We're hiring a Systems Administrator III (Capacity Manager) to support a major federal program and help ensure critical enterprise systems remain scalable, reliable, and high-performing. This fully remote role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing infrastructure trends, forecasting capacity needs, and solving complex performance challenges. You'll work across servers, storage, networking, cloud, and virtualized environments while partnering with engineering and operations teams supporting a 24/7 environment. The team is looking for someone with strong experience in capacity planning, performance monitoring, and IT infrastructure management. Experience with cloud technologies, capacity modeling, and ITIL best practices is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Support the SEC ISS contract by ensuring enterprise infrastructure and critical applications meet capacity, performance, and availability requirements.
- Analyze utilization trends across servers, storage, network, cloud, and virtualized platforms to develop forward-looking capacity plans aligned with SEC priorities.
- Create dashboards and recurring reports to support SLA tracking, risk visibility, and leadership decision-making.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams supporting a 24x7x365 environment to prevent capacity-related service impacts and support upgrades and migrations.
- Monitor and forecast capacity risks, develop and maintain capacity plans, and define thresholds for scaling and resource reallocation.
- Track performance and health metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.
- Support incident triage and problem management for capacity-related outages, providing impact analysis and coordinating mitigation efforts.
- Assist in planning upgrades, migrations, and platform changes, ensuring capacity and performance headroom.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in capacity planning and performance management within enterprise IT environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, and network systems.
- Familiarity with capacity management tools, methodologies, and ITIL best practices.
- Proficiency in capacity modeling tools and performance monitoring solutions.
- Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
- Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust clearance.
