Web developer - small history project

I'm Portland based, but coordinating a project for the Crook County Historical Society. The project involves the bicentennial of journal entries written by early fur trappers. They are the first written descriptions of our watershed. Signs bearing the journal entries will be placed at or near the site where written over a 80+ mile stretch. Example sign attached.

We need a website that is the landing spot for "for more info." That website will have more complete journal entries, footnotes for those entries, background information, and a map of sign locations. Those are the basics. In time, something more interactive is possible, but not initially (most likely). Some grant $$ are available for this. A print version of the map may also be made available at visitor centers.

We anticipate that the website being hosted by directnic (because we already use them) and built using wordpress, because they offer/support that (tho we are open to other). Important that website is computer and mobile friendly.

We seek a web person who can coach us on a few initial decisions, help us get the website up and running, and teach/empower us to make some edits on our own.
