Job Description

This Power BI Developer role focuses on designing and developing data-driven analytical solutions that support engineering, operations, and production environments. The position combines strong Power BI development, data modeling, and programming skills to create user-friendly dashboards, reports, and applications that improve decision-making within a manufacturing and automotive context. The ideal candidate applies solid problem-solving abilities, collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, and ensures data accuracy and performance across multiple data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps that support engineering, operations, and production teams.
  • Build and optimize Power BI data models, including relationships, measures, and calculations, to ensure accurate and efficient analytics.
  • Develop and manage data transformation workflows using DAX and Power Query (M) to prepare, clean, and shape data from multiple sources.
  • Connect Power BI solutions to various data sources and create efficient data pipelines that support scalable reporting and analytics.
  • Implement user-friendly, interactive analytical tools and visualizations tailored to the needs of business, engineering, and operations stakeholders.
  • Use programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, and SQL to integrate data, automate processes, and support custom analytics solutions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to data connections, report performance, and data quality, and implement corrective actions.
  • Validate data accuracy and consistency across reports and dashboards to ensure reliable insights for decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, IT, and other technical and nontechnical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to analyze production line data and support programming of systems within production lines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing and automotive environment by leveraging data and analytics.
  • Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps.
  • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with DAX and Power Query (M) for data transformation workflows.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts, SQL, and relational data structures.
  • Ability to connect Power BI to multiple data sources and build efficient data pipelines.
  • Experience designing user-friendly, interactive analytical tools for business or engineering teams.
  • Strong programming or scripting experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, or similar.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, optimize performance, and validate data accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills for working with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with engineering, operations, or IT teams.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, particularly in data-driven and technical environments.
  • Experience with programming of systems within production lines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or systems engineering environments.
  • Automotive industry experience, particularly with automotive OEMs, is a significant plus.
  • Experience in software development or software engineering.
  • Exposure to systems engineering concepts.
  • Experience working in Japanese automotive manufacturing settings is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $78000.00 - $101000.00/yr.
