Infrastructure Project Manager
Position Location: Pittsburgh, PA, 15222 / Cleveland, OH, 44136 / Dallas, TX, 75234 / Birmingham, AL, 35233 / Phoenix, AZ, 85016
Likely Hybrid to start, could move to full time in office.
Length of Assignment: 9 Months Contract to Hire role
Pay Rate: $60 to 70/hr. on W2 ONLY
Function of the Group: Mitigating Risk
Industry background: Looking for a candidate that has delivered infrastructure in the past
Roles and Responsibilities:
Create and drive a detailed work breakdown structure that outlines all of the tasks required for delivery and highlights dependencies, ownership, and committed task durations. Keep the plan current and frequently review it with the project team.
Communicate technical issues that are impeding their project, what actions are required, and who is taking the actions.
Analyze impacts to project timeliness and make recommendations and decisions on how to adjust the timeline or remediate the issue with the least amount of impact. Host regular project meetings with the impacted team members, publish meeting minutes, capture action items, follow up on deliverables, and escalate issues that surface.
Build collaborative relationships with the technical and application resources assigned to the project.
Negotiate delivery date for each task ensuring it aligns to SLAs and overall project timeline. Understands how delays may impact the overall project and providing escalation where there are impacts to the project timeline.
Understand how planned and unplanned change control windows will impact the project timeline and determine if changes should be escalated for approvals to proceed or be rescheduled.
Understand technology strategies to help facilitate design and delivery discussions and to keep current with enterprise standard practices, processes and policies (example: cloud, DBaaS, data center strategy, end of life technology).
Manages coordination of delivery and dependencies across multiple teams.
Provide end to end visibility into health of the deliverables.
Ensures adherence with enterprise change management standards
Must Have Technical Skills Required (10+ Years of experience Required):
1. 10+ years of experience in infrastructure project management specifically managing the delivery and build of servers (physical and virtual), database, and network components.
2. Ability to facilitate and manage multiple infrastructure delivery projects proficiently.
3. Ability to multi-task, and being flexible to assist team members as needed.
4. Excellent communication (verbal and written) across all levels in the organization.
5. Excellent organizational skills.
6. Ability to lead complex projects and or programs.
7. Strong project management skills.
8. Extensive knowledge of Jira, Client Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
9. Must be able to proactively engage business and technology leaders.
10. Able to lead meetings, follow up on deliverables, negotiate and resolve ambiguity.
11. Enjoys working with multiple technical, operations and business partners.
12. Banking Background HIGHLY PREFERRED.
Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
1. Midrange server / network infrastructure project delivery experience.
2. Experience with Jira in management of projects through deliverables/epics/stories and cross dependencies management.
3. Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodology environments.
Education/Certifications: HS Diploma at minimum.
Interview Process: One 30 minute interview with Hiring Manager, second interview as needed
