Vaco is hiring an Applications Engineering Manager Location: Oakland Park, FL Compensation: $142-$156/annually Applications Engineering Manager I Manages daily activities of applications engineers that review customers' technical needs and recommend specific product/service solutions to meet these needs. Leads research and the preparation of reports on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. Being an Applications Engineering Manager I oversees and contributes to the design and development of equipment and systems or redesign of existing equipment to fulfill customer needs. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Applications Engineering Manager I acts as advisor to applications engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Responsibilities: Team Management : Supervise and manage the daily activities of application engineers, ensuring they meet customer technical needs and project deadlines. Project Oversight : Lead the design and development of applications, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Technical Support : Develop and implement technical support procedures and manuals, and provide input on product enhancements and development. Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and engineering, to align product offerings with customer requirements. Quality Assurance : Ensure that all engineering processes adhere to quality standards and best practices, including participation in ISO certification processes if applicable. Manage the Q Product development lifecycle for rapid evolutionary and revolutionary development; Must be able to analyze business requirements to coordinate the development and maintenance of applications; Must exhibit a strong desire to increase technical knowledge and experience; Committed to developing a world class portfolio of Wheelchair securements; Must demonstrate ability to resolve issues quickly and creatively; Lead and participate in application development discussions, recommend design choices and execute projects balancing strategic and tactical goals; Manage the QLK and NEMT securement bracket development process; Mentor and grow a team of application engineers and help accelerate customer first and data driven culture; Must be able to quickly learn and support new technologies; Work closely with the Product Manager and R D during the development, feedback and testing; Must be able to operate comfortably in both technical and business process situations and collaborate with Executive Team on project prioritization; Work with the Engineering R D team to ensure secure, scalable and responsive securement applications. Required Skills and Qualifications Educational Background : Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Experience : A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, with at least 1-3 years in a supervisory role. Technical Proficiency : Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and a keen understanding of mechanical and electromechanical safety systems. Soft Skills : Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to project management. Work Environment Engineering Applications Managers will work in a collaborative environment, interacting with various departments to ensure the successful execution of projects. They will also engage clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between engineering teams and customer requirements, ensuring that products not only meet technical specifications, local, state and federal regulations but also deliver value to clients and organization. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
