Full-Time Opportunity: Full Stack AI Mobile Engineer (React Native + Frontier AI) - Montreal / San Francisco / NYC

We are currently hiring for a Full Stack AI Mobile Engineer (Founding Engineer) role with one of our clients. This opportunity is based in Montreal / San Francisco (SF) / New York City (NYC) and will be conducted through a single-round, in-person interview process.

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a founding-level full-stack AI mobile engineer to help bring a new product to life. You will serve as the second technical voice in the room—responsible for transforming the product vision into a working reality and helping shape the architecture and engineering approach for years to come.

There is strong potential for career growth into a founding CTO track, depending on performance and scope.

Role Details

Responsibilities:

• Build and ship production consumer mobile experiences end-to-end.

• Own the complete mobile engineering lifecycle: development, release, debugging, monitoring, and iteration.

• Design and implement AI features in production, including prompt workflows, tool usage, and evaluation/quality systems.

• Collaborate across the stack (mobile, backend, infrastructure, and AI) and take responsibility for system behavior in real-world conditions.

• Identify product gaps and close them quickly—operating with founder-level ownership and urgency.

Must-Haves:

• Shipped a 0→1 consumer mobile app that reached the App Store and had real users.

• Strong expertise in React Native with proven ability to own the full mobile lifecycle (build → release → debug → monitor → iterate).

• Built and deployed AI capabilities using Claude (or other frontier models) in production, including:

1. prompt design and orchestration
2. tool use / agentic workflows (as applicable)
3. evals and quality measurement

• Proven ability to work across the stack—frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI—without friction.

• Experience with (or willingness to deeply learn) HealthKit, sensor data ingestion, or wearable APIs, including an understanding of the inherent messiness of biosignals.

• Founder mindset: you don’t require extensive direction; you see what’s missing and make it happen.

• Availability for in-person work/interview in Montreal, SF, or NYC.

Bonus Points:

• Background or strong interest in nervous system science, somatics, neuroscience, or trauma research.

• Prior experience as the first engineer at a startup (understanding the tradeoffs and responsibilities that come with it).

• Experience building AI-powered testing and evaluation pipelines, with clear opinions on what works in practice.
