One Year Contract

Looking for the candidates who can work without any visa sponsorship.

The manager prefers a more entry level candidate that meets requirements and is submitted at a lower bill rate over a more experienced candidate submitted at a higher bill rate.

Clear and concise written and verbal communication is crucial to success and productivity in this role.

Interview Process: Virtual Interview via MS Teams video. Please use laptop and be prepared to share screen if asked.

Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week. (Tuesdays and Wednesdays are required onsite days).

Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & follow the hybrid schedule)

The State of Michigan is looking for a candidate with a focus on basic cloud engineering Cloud deployment. This role will wear multiple hats assisting State of Michigan Cloud Architects and team to comprehend objectives, generate solutions, POC the solution, generate recommendations then implement the decisions.

The Entry-Level Cloud Engineer will support the State of Michigan’s cloud architecture and engineering teams in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments. This role is ideal for earlycareer technologists who have foundational cloud knowledge and are eager to grow into a full cloud engineering or cloud architecture role.

The engineer will assist senior architects in understanding business objectives, developing solution concepts, performing proofofconcepts, and implementing cloud technologies that improve delivery, automation, and operational efficiency

  • Assist senior cloud architects with the design and deployment of cloud solutions across the State of Michigan AWS, and Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Support the buildout of multicloud environments, including public, private, and hybrid cloud models.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure components.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist with infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools.
  • Participate in integrating cloud pipelines with existing DevOps systems.
  • Document architecture decisions, pipeline configurations, and deployment procedures.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and training activities.
  • Maintain clear and organized technical documentation for onboarding and future reference.
  • Support adherence to cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, PCI, etc.).
  • Assist in implementing secure configurations and monitoring controls.
  • Work with crossfunctional teams to understand business needs and translate them into cloud requirements.
  • Participate in discussions with vendors, product specialists, and internal teams to evaluate technologies.
  • Support enterprise architecture reviews and solution assessments.
  • Assist with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of cloud workloads.
  • Help design and test workload migrations and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Support integration of cloud services with on-premises technologies (VMware, Cisco, Dell, Nutanix, etc.).
  • Leverage State of Michigan Institutional knowledge to cloud engineering projects.
