This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Technology team that's creating consumer-facing, cutting-edge technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world! As a Lead Software Engineer, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Web-Software Engineering Team reporting to the Senior Manager Software Engineering, you will support projects including Hilton.com and related customer-facing digital experiences.
What you'll do during a typical day:
- Develop scalable front-end solutions for Hilton's websites and digital services.
- Lead technical design and implementation for complex initiatives, ensuring performance, accessibility, maintainability, and alignment with platform standards.
- Drive code quality through code reviews, documentation, testing, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-powered tools and workflows to help the team develop faster, improve code quality, and increase engineering effectiveness.
How you'll collaborate with others:
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, designers, and engineers to build Hilton's web experiences, contributing to roadmap planning, technical strategy, agile ceremonies, and AI adoption.
- Mentor engineers, promoting strong engineering practices, risk awareness, and effective use of AIenabled development approaches.
Deliverables you'll take ownership of:
- Lead delivery of major initiatives for Hilton.com and customerfacing digital experiences, serving as technical owner for complex features and shared capabilities through deployment, observability, and ongoing support.
- Manage frontend assets, reusable components, and automated tests to ensure highquality, performant, and accessible user experiences.
What It Takes to Make the Stay
You have these minimum qualifications:
- Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience working with React
- Experience with TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience using AI tools, services, or APIs in software development workflows or digital applications
- Experience helping engineering teams to improve development speed, quality, and effectiveness
- This is a hybrid role and would require to be near one of our three US office locations (McLean, Dallas, or Memphis)
- Travel up to 10% annually
It would be useful if you have:
- Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus six plus (6+) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus twelve plus (12+) years of Technology related experience
- Seven (7) + years of professional experience in Technology or a related field
- Five (5) + years of experience working with React
- Practical experience evaluating and adopting AI developer tools to accelerate delivery and improve engineering workflows
- Experience providing technical direction on how AI technologies can improve team productivity and software delivery.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog and Splunk.
