Position SummaryThe Product Owner defines, delivers, and manages the lifecycle of products in a product portfolio. Leads the product team(s) developing the product(s). This position may be involved in the funding management and budgeting processes for the products and / or portfolio.
Responsibilities- Defines and manages product roadmap
- Build, groom and prioritize the product backlog, continuously managing expectations with relevant stakeholders including the senior leadership team
- Manage the sprint planning process and participate in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)
- Develop a deep contextual understanding of our customer, worker and user needs
- Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and by performing industry research to support future development
- Write detailed functional specifications, user stories and product documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, designers and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features
- Collaborate with the organization on vision, strategy, decisioning, tactical execution, and measurement systems
- Communicate roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders
Required/Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science,Engineering, Marketing, or other Related Degree
- Minimum 4 years related work experience
- In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 4 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 8 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- In addition to desired degree, 4 years related work experience
- Certified SCRUM Product Owner
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 or more years working in the electric utility industry
- Experience as a Product Analyst
- Experience with new product development and stakeholder engagement
- Experience with Jira
- Experience with relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action.
- Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team
- Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate
- Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to build relationships
- Understanding of the SDLC process and the ability to work in an agile environment with bi-weekly releases
- Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs
Working Conditions
- Office environment mostly, with some travel for team or stakeholder meetings
- Hybrid Mobility Classification Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated Duke Energy facility
