Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Cyber Software Engineer
This position is located in Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program.
What you will get to do:
Administer systems based on Linux and Windows operating systems
Automate system deployment, operation and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management (CM) tooling
Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
Implement clean and maintainable infrastructure-as-code that adheres to industry best practices
Automate cloud native technologies in air-gapped environments, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure
Design and implement security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption
Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations
Provide technical guidance and training to other team members and stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience; Masters with 0 years of experience, 4 years of additional experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- A current/active U.S. Government Secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Must possess a current DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher within six months of start date (example: Security+)
- Experience with Python programming fundamentals and usage of python virtual environments.
- Experience developing software integrating with SQL
- Basic understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP fundamentals, subnets, routing, and VLAN configurations.
- Basic Windows and Linux administration skills
- Experience with virtual environments/hypervisors
- Experience writing command line scripts and operating on the command line
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with container management using CLI tools like Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
- System Build Automation (Ansible, Red Hat Ansible Tower, Red Hat Automation Controller) and PostgreSQL to include understanding of various Ansible Modules and Ansible debugging.
- Experience with multiple Linux distributions with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu
- A strong understanding of virtual infrastructure: Ability to design, deploy, manage, maintain, and upgrade VMware vCenter, ESXi, NSX-T, Horizon VDI environments.
- .Experience with database technologies.
