The Clinical Data Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of clinical data within our healthcare organization. This position has three primary tasks, managing the export and reconciliation of center clinical data with state systems, tier 1 support for the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, conducting regular data audits, maintaining clinical forms, and generating reports that support quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and patient care initiatives. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail, an understanding of medical terminology, and a passion for data accuracy.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work. Experience with ASP.net programming and SQL Server reporting services a plus. Valid Texas Class C Drivers License and good driving record are required. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, data formatting). Attention to Detail: High level of precision when handling large volumes of sensitive patient data. Analytical Thinking: Ability to spot trends, anomalies, and gap in clinical documentation. Collaborative Communication: Comfortable reaching out to medical professionals to resolve data discrepancies in a professional, constructive manner.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in data science, business analytics, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field is generally preferred but not required. At a minimum graduation from a standard high school or GED.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of statistics and analyzing data sets, of running queries, report writing and presenting findings of data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques, and of record keeping including security procedures for handling, protecting, and distributing confidential data. Skill in the use of a computer and applicable software, in analyzing problems and devising effective solutions, in conducting data searches, in evaluating and translating large amounts of data, and in critical thinking. Ability to compile, review, and analyze data, to prepare reports, to maintain accuracy and attention to detail. To communicate effectively in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Skills to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations and the public. Ability to learn about and implement trauma-informed care practices within the scope of work for the position.
Must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of the job duties and ability to maintain regular attendance as set forth in center policies and procedures.
Hours: 8AM-5PM M-F
Salary: $66,000 Annually $31.7307 Hourly

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Collects, analyzes, corrects and submits data from electronic health records for submission to the state reporting system.
- Retrieves, analyzes, and compares information elements from the state to the information in the electronic health record.
- Interacts with electronic health records, in addition to state and other organization data systems, to administer user information and access.
- Prepares, maintains, and distributes ad hoc, operational, analytic reports using direct database queries and reporting tools.
- Utilizes data analysis tools and reports to compare and identify potential data issues between databases, reports, and/or other data systems.
- Analyzes new or existing procedures, information systems, or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Designs, modifies, and implements new or revised systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
- Prepares charts, diagrams, tables and flow charts to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solutions.
- Assists in formulating logical descriptions of problems and devising optimum solutions.
- Assist with determining computer software or hardware needs required to set up or alter systems.
- May assist in information systems security administration.
- Performs related work as assigned.
