Database Administrator Location: Remote
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle databases, AWS cloud services, and on-premises to cloud migration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our database environments, ensuring data integrity, and leading the migration of on-premises databases to the cloud.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our database environments, ensuring data integrity, and leading the migration of on-premises databases to the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases to ensure high performance, availability, and security.
- Plan, execute, and manage the migration of on-premises databases to AWS cloud environments.
- Design and implement database solutions in AWS, leveraging services such as RDS, DMS, EC2, S3, and others.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for databases.
- Ensure database security by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and auditing.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support database-related needs and optimize application performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices to continuously improve database management processes.
- Participate in afterhours deployments
- Participate in weekly on-call rotation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, AWS Certified Database - Specialty) are a plus.
- Experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Oracle databases, Golden Gate, OEM, RMAN.
- Proven experience with AWS cloud services, including RDS, EC2, S3, and VPC.
- Demonstrated experience in migrating on-premises databases to AWS cloud environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for database management and optimization.
- Strong understanding of database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery best practices.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, or Python.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document procedures clearly for both technical staff and end-users.
