Supervises an information technology technical support team.
Provides work direction and guidance to information technology technical support team members.
Provides assistance to information technology support team members.
Monitors the performance of, provides performance feedback to, and handles performance-related issues involving, each information technology technical support team member.
Mentors and trains information technology support team members.
Determines work schedules for information technology support team members.
Provides customer service to users who have technical issues with information technology hardware and software.
Troubleshoots technical issues with information technology hardware and software.

REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY
OPTION I: Three (3) years of experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing client computing devices or software, in a centralized Information Technology organization*; one (1) year of which MUST have been in a highly responsible capacity at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Senior Information Technology Technical Support Analyst **.
OPTION I I : Four (4) years of experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing client computing devices or software in a help desk/desktop support role with a minimum of two (2) years as a senior or lead working in an enterprise corporate environment***.
LICENSE
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS
Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION
*A centralized Information Technology (IT) organization is defined as a structure which is under the direction or guidance of a chief Information Technology official for the department or major organizational unit, and is responsible for providing comprehensive IT services including analysis, design, acquisition, and/or development, implementation, maintenance, or support of information systems; and in which the work performed is in direct relationship to the IT requirements and initiatives of the department or major organizational unit.

Experience at the level of Los Angeles Countys class of Senior Information Technology Technical Support Analyst is defined as under direction provides comprehensive/complex technical support services in information technology including installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting and repair of hardware, software, networking and applications; lead other IT support staff, as required.

SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE
As part of this application process, applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire. The questionnaire contains a pre-investigative questionnaire which will be used as part of the background investigation process to ensure applicants meet the standards set forth by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Applicants who fail the pre-investigative questionnaire will be disqualified and will have to wait three (3) months from the date of the disqualification in order to reapply.

MULTIPLE-CHOICE TESTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.
CANDIDATES MUST ACHIEVE A PASSING SCORE OF 70% OR HIGHER ON THE EXAMINATION IN ORDER TO BE PLACED ON THE ELIGIBLE LIST.
TESTING ACCOMMODATION

Please note, you will be contacted at a later time by a Sheriff's Department representative that will guide you through the process. You will be provided with an initial deadline to submit documentation. VETERAN'S CREDIT
If you are a veteran, you may be eligible for veteran's credit, which is an additional 10% of the total points added to a passing score. We will need a copy of your form DD214 to review, so please include that with your application or email it to ... as soon as possible, so if you are eligible for veteran's credit, we can include it before the list is available.
ELIGIBILITY AND VACANCY INFORMATION
The names of applicants receiving a passing grade in the examination will be placed on the eligible list in the order of their group for a period of six (6) months from the date of promulgation.
The list of successful applicants developed from this exam will be used to fill vacancies within the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, Technology and Support Division, Data Systems Bureau.
SPECIAL INFORMATIONSUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS MUST COMPLETE A THOROUGH BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, INCLUDING FINGERPRINT SEARCH. Examples of disqualifying factors include: Any felony convictions; job related misdemeanor convictions; certain serious traffic convictions or patterns of traffic violations (3 moving violations in one year; failure to appear; at fault accidents; suspended license; driving under the influence); poor credit history; poor employment history; substance abuse; anyone on probation.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY IF HIRED
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (Department) has a "zero tolerance" policy for its employees for the following:
