Werelooking fora Principal Data Scientist - CoreAIwithatrack recordofcross-team partnership, effective communication with engineering, executive leadership and sales, the ability to translate product questions into targeted data science investigations, and the ability to independently identify/execute/automate insightful analysis that improves Microsofts developer-focused AI suite and drives product growth.

Responsibilities
- Supply executives with time-critical analyses that steer major investment decisions.
- Drive alignment across executives and diverse stakeholdersthroughtrusted partnerships, compelling analysis, and effective communication.
- Identify and prioritize high ROI data opportunities for your individual work and the broader team.
- Contribute actively to the infrastructure and culture needed to scale quantity and quality of data insights across CoreAI.
- Mentorother data scientists, engineers, and PMs.
- Operationalize models and reporting.
- Leverage AI toaccelerateworkflowsandamplifyteam productivity.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR Masters Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR equivalent experience.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading data scienceand analyticsprojects that delivered measurable product andgrowth wins.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing, visualizing,and modeling large-scale data using SQL, Python, or R.
- 5+ years of experience designing and analyzing experiments and causal inference studies.
- 3+ years of experience contributing to scaled data pipelines supporting operationalized reports, models and analyses.
- Experience usingAI tools in data science and analytics workflows.
- Experience both prototyping and deploying data products.
Data Science IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
