The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) enables the DMHC to deliver essential services to the State of California through the use of information technology (IT). The systems OTI supports have become a valuable tool in the execution of DMHCs business functions. OTI develops, maintains and supports multiple IT systems that include a vast variety of office automation tools, custom applications, public and internal web sites, low-code business intelligence tools, low-code application development tools, data analytics and the underlying IT infrastructure .

JOB SUMMARY Join us as our Senior Data Engineer, primarily responsible for developing, enhancing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and testing on-premise and cloud-based enterprise BI solutions, data warehouse, subject area data marts, ETL processes, data pipelines, dashboards, reports, geo-spatial analysis (mapping) solutions using ArcGIS, supporting, configuration and integration with ElasticSearch. You will deliver within a Data Management framework that will include Data Governance, Master Data Management and Meta Data Management.
The successful candidate will leverage data architecture best practices to assess current data and develop a future state architecture and implementation plan. You will be helping to develop a formal Data Management framework.

Working Conditions

The DMHC has locations in Downtown Sacramento and Rancho Cordova. Both locations are located close to light-rail with various amenities. The incumbent will work in a climate-controlled cubicle and/or office environment with artificial lighting.

This position may be eligible for hybrid telework. The telework schedule is permitted at the operational needs of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with the State Telework Policy and the DMHCs Telework Policy. All employees who telework are required to be California residents and maintain California residency in accordance with Government Code 14200.
