Job Summary:
Teledyne FLIR is searching foran experienced Embedded Hardware Engineer (PCB & FPGA) witha proventrack record ofsystem-level PCBdesign andbring-up,with successful projectsthat includehigh-speed digitalsignals, on-boardpower supplydesign, including HV sensor biasing circuitry, analog to digital conversion, real time digital signal processing, RF modules (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GNSS) and sensor signal conditioning.For our next generation Teledyne FLIR products, this positionwill alsorequireexcellence in a variety ofrelated embeddeddisciplines includingsome bare metal MCU firmware, FPGA code, digital signal processing, implementing LCD displays, and testing.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Designsystem hardware with SOMs, MCUs,FPGAs, ADCs,and digital interfaces(schematic capture and layout design).
Performhardwarebring-up, inspection,and signal integrity analysis.
DevelopFPGAcode and some MCU code.
Contributeto variousautomatedtest setups used in production.
Participate in the analysis of raw sensor data and apply Teledyne FLIR proprietary real time digital signal processing algorithms; first assist then take the lead in their improvement.
Design against standards (ANSI, FCC/CE, IEEE, etc.) and support agency testing.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree required (ideally in Electrical Engineering), Masters Degree and/or strong mathematical background a plus.
5+ yearsof system-levelhardwaredesign experience.
5+ yearsof experience withFPGAdevelopment and related testing methodologies, Actel/Microsemi development environment is a plus.
Proficiency withat least oneprofessional PCB design tool (Altium, OrCad, Allegro, PADS, etc.), knowledge of Altium is preferred.
Advanceddevelopment skills inC, C++, Verilog,orVHDL.
Hands-on experience with modern lab equipment for general debugging, SI analysis, EMI, and EMC testing (oscilloscopes, logic- and spectrum analyzers, etc.).
Soldering/de-soldering skills with SMD components.
Understandingof typical embedded digital communication protocols UART, SPI, I2C, SWD,JTAG,etc.
Basic Linux usageknowledgewith Bash and Python scripting skills.
Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills.
Learning/interested mindset with a team player attitude is required.
Able and willing to travel 10% (primarily domestic) to visit tradeshows, training events, and conferences.
RF designbackground(e. g. RADAR) will be a plus.
Experience with USB C, Bluetooth Low Energy, and WiFi a plus
Experience withsecure system design,embedded RTOS andLinux driver development a plus.
Understanding of version controlsystems, bug tracking, and continuous integrationworkflows a plus.
