Senior Business Analyst (Data / Enterprise Metadata) - Contractor Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid - 2 days onsite Tuesday and Wednesday) Assignment Type: 6-month contract to hire Pay Rate: $58 - $65 w2/ Hourly (Benefits eligible after 60 days) Work Schedule: Hybrid, Tuesday & Thursday onsite Benefits: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Work Authorization: (TN, EAD-GC, GC, or US Cit.) - Must be eligible to work without requiring sponsorship now or in the future About the Role: A well-known national media and content organization is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join its Enterprise Metadata Management team. This is a highly collaborative, data-focused role where you will serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in data-driven environments, with experience supporting data products, governance initiatives, and system integrations. You will work across multiple teams to gather requirements, drive alignment, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions that reduce friction between business and IT. Responsibilities: Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize requirements across multiple initiatives Translate complex business needs into clear technical specifications, process flows, and documentation Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and IT teams to support data migrations, integrations, and governance efforts Build and maintain reporting solutions using SQL and Power BI or SSRS Facilitate planning and prioritization sessions to manage competing project demands Support Agile teams during development cycles, including sprint planning and issue resolution Create SOPs, training materials, and user documentation to support system adoption Serve as a point of escalation for issues and help troubleshoot data and system challenges Qualifications: 7+ years of Business Analyst experience, with a strong focus on data environments Hands-on experience with MSSQL, relational databases, and writing queries Experience building reports or dashboards using Power BI or SSRS Background supporting data migration, integration, or data governance initiatives Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders Experience creating detailed documentation including SOPs, workflows, and training materials Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field Strong Plus: Experience working within Enterprise Metadata Management or data governance teams Familiarity with Agile or Scrum environments Experience leading requirements workshops or joint application sessions Exposure to media, broadcasting, or digital content organizations Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
